‘Explore Palatine’ Expo & Sidewalk Sale Event
Saturday, September 12 and 'PalHunt' on Sunday, September 13, 2020
These events are part of a greater initiative to encourage area residents to support local businesses and keep sales tax dollars in the Village, whenever possible.

You only need to register your business once by choosing either the "Add your Business" button or the "Host A Table" button.
*Sign up to host an outdoor table at one of three featured locations in Palatine; Palatine Plaza (Northwest Highway and Hicks), Quentin Corners (Northwest Highway and Quentin), or in front of Christie’s Dairy Delights (Bothwell and Wilson Streets in downtown Palatine). Participants must supply their own table and chairs, table coverings, and any promotional materials. The cost for PACC members is $25, and for non-members $75. The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) is spearheading ‘Explore Palatine’, a Village-wide expo and sidewalk sale event that encourages area residents to make a point of shopping in Palatine, and supporting the local business community on Saturday, September 12, 2020 and whenever possible!
Event participants must be either Palatine-based businesses and organizations, or PACC members, and can click the ‘Add You Business‘ button above to register to take part in this one-day event. Participating businesses can offer sales, specials and entertainment (at select locations) and should display a yellow or gold balloon outside of their locations on Saturday, September 12th. In addition to adding their information to the Explore Palatine website, promotion of this event can also be shared on participants’ social media pages in support of Explore Palatine with the following hashtag/social media tags; #ExplorePalatine @PalatineChamber.
Palatine area residents are encouraged to explore the Village’s hidden gems, including places they may have not have visited in the past (retail stores, service providers, restaurants and more) as as well as show support for participants that they already know! Added features of this event will include a 50/50 raffle and a clue hunt, entitled PalHunt is planned for Sunday, September 13th! More information on the hunt can be found here.
Sales tax dollars generated from Palatine businesses directly impact the community; $48 of a $100 purchase stays in Palatine when an individual shops at an independent local store, while $14 stays in Palatine when they are patronizing larger, regional businesses in Palatine – but just $1 stays in Palatine when people shop online.
Explore Palatine is an outgrowth of PACC’s ‘Think Local’ campaign, which was created to generate awareness about the impact that supporting local businesses can have on the communities that they exist in. The campaign also looks to educate residents about the importance of keeping sales tax dollars within the community whenever possible. PACC members that would like to participate in Explore Palatine but do have have locations in the Village have options if they would like to set up a promotional table for this event.
